For more background on the story, our own Nicole Haase interviewed Ammerman for a story earlier this season.

Wisconsin guard Traevon Jackson not expected to play vs. Michigan State

Does Josh Gasser expect Traevon Jackson to play on Sunday? "Probably not."

Zack Miller on Twitter. So it turns out Traevon Jackson probably isn't returning from injury for Sunday's Senior Day game vs. Michigan State. Not only did Josh Gasser issue the above quote, UW officials say Jackson has yet to be cleared by the team's doctors. That would surely be a bummer for Jackson, and UW, which is in need of improved bench play as March approaches.

Wisconsin's March Madness uniforms unveiled

I am a man who, just this week, purchased socks with Allen Iverson on them, so when sports business dude Darren Rovell tweeted out this picture of the Badgers' new March Madness uniforms, Bucky's 5th Quarter already had an in-house expert.

The actual jersey doesn't look much different than the one Wisconsin is currently sporting, but the shorts bring a whole lot more to the table. This year's regular-season short was mainly either red or white, depending on the venue of the game, but the new March Madness shorts has a large (probably a quarter of the short) swath of the opposite color on the top and a much bigger Motion W on the side.

As a professional bartender and basketball short owner, I wholeheartedly approve. Man, nothing gets people who know nothing about fashion to talk about fashion like new sports uniforms.

And another thing! Those Browns uniforms have a stupid shade of orange now!

Video: NG commit Olive Sagapolu does a standing backflip

Finally got my standing tuck and Lauren in the background for support #315lbs#backflip#mdcheer

A video posted by Olive Sagapolu (@sagapolu_97) on

Here's incoming Wisconsin freshman nose guard Olive Sagapolu doing a standing backflip. The caption also seems to indicate he's up to 315 pounds; for what it's worth (not much), he was listed at 6'3, 295 pounds on Signing Day.

Video: Matt Foley should really be UW's recruiting coordinator

Thank you to @BadgerFootball, which unearthed this flawless clip of Chris Farley reprising the Matt Foley character from Saturday Night Live. Raise your hand if you will protest if this isn't part of the next Camp Randall scoreboard intro next season.

Melvin Gordon runs unofficial 40-yard dash

Melvin Gordon's full workout at the NFL combine can be watched at the link above. Spoiler: the former Wisconsin running back ran an unofficial 4.52-second 40-yard dash, fifth among all backs. He also bench-pressed 19 reps, which was 16th among the position. We'll update the post here once official times and rankings are released.

Josh Gasser scores 1,000th point

Congratulations, Josh Gasser. He scored his 1,000th point at Wisconsin in Saturday's game against Minnesota, adding an impressive milestone to his five-year Badgers career.

The beginning of his bio says it all: "The undisputed leader of the Badgers, Josh Gasser returns for his fifth and final year at Wisconsin. After a torn left ACL cost him the entire 2012-13 season, Gasser returned stronger than ever last season to cement his reputation as one of the toughest and well-rounded players in the country, earning the "All-Glue" Team label from Sports Illustrated's Seth Davis."

Also, as ESPN points out, Gasser is the second Badger after Michael Finley with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 250 assists.

Wisconsin's 2015-16 Big Ten opponents released

Now we know which conference teams the Badgers will play twice next season and which will be single plays. Drumroll please...

Home single plays: Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska, Rutgers

Road single plays: Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern, Penn State

Crazy to miss home-and-home series with both primary border rivals in the same year, but on the bright side, that Michigan State rivalry can heat back up.

RB commit Antonio Williams preaches patience

That's 2016 four-star running back Antonio Williams, who committed to Wisconsin in early December. Williams, aside from the hype his recruitment has gathered -- 247Sports' Composite rankings have him as the No. 7 running back for 2016 -- the North Stanly, N.C., product has been vocal about his excitement of coming to Madison.

Yet, after news of running backs coach and top recruiting Thomas Brown leaving for Georgia surfaced earlier this week, Williams tweeted he was "staying off twitter for a while" and "not answering any questions at the moment." The tweet was received widely as a hint that Williams might be re-opening his recruitment, but as the above tweet indicates, he says he's just being patient until Brown's replacement is in the fold. At this point, John Settle still seems likely to be the guy.

Ohio SF Khalil Iverson commits to Wisconsin

Wisconsin has reportedly added a top-notch athletic wing for the class of 2015 in Delaware (Rutheford B. Hayes), Ohio forward Khalil Iverson. Zach Fleer of Land-Grant Holy Land first reported the commitment, and Iverson later tweeted confirmation (his account is private, hence the retweet).

Iverson's recruitment was about to open up, as he received a recent offer from Tennessee and West Virginia was also seeming interested. Iverson joins Alex Illikainen, Brevin Pritzl, Charlie Thomas in a strong class that hopes a Diamond Stone commitment would be the best icing on the cake ever.

B5Q's Phil Mitten published an update on Iverson's interest in Wisconsin last week.
