Former UW commit Jordan Stevenson expected to play vs. Badgers

25

Looks like there's an added storyline layer to Saturday's match-up between Nebraska and Wisconsin in Lincoln.

True freshman running back and former Wisconsin commit Jordan Stevenson will burn his redshirt and contribute to the Huskers' special teams, Nebraska head coach Mike Riley told reporters on Thursday. Multiple media reported the news from Lincoln.

Stevenson, a four-star recruit, was slated to redshirt per Riley earlier in the season after arriving to camp late. The Texas native committed to Nebraska in the summer after being denied admission to Wisconsin.

Hayes named second-team preseason All-American by CBS Sports

+

From CBS Sports: Hayes will be Wisconsin's primary option now that Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker are gone. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 12.4 points and 6.2 rebounds last season. He shot 49.7 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from 3-point range.

Austin Traylor to have procedure, not on depth chart

5

Wisconsin tight end Austin Traylor sustained an apparent arm/shoulder injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to Iowa, and head coach Paul Chryst said that Traylor will have a procedure done on Monday that will determine the timetable for his return.

Traylor is not listed on Wisconsin's depth chart for this Saturday's game against Nebraska, which is not a great sign for his return. Wisconsin has dealt with tight ends to its top three tight ends now, and the bummer is that Traylor has played well of late. Over five games, he has 10 receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns.

Wide receiver Alex Erickson is still going through concussion protocol, but is listed on the depth chart in his usual No. 1 WR spot. Chryst also expects to get kickoff specialist Andrew Endicott back this week.

UWBadgers.com hires Andy Baggot

This is tremendous news announced Monday by Wisconsin. Baggot was unfortunately part of the Wisconsin State Journal's staff cuts this summer, which was stunning news for Badgers fans long familiar with his work covering UW. Baggot's specialties were hockey and football, as well as athletic department-wide coverage. It's great to see him land on his feet, especially in Madison and with UW.
