The Wisconsin Badgers are set to face off against the Jacksonville State Tigers on Thursday, currently coming off a 98-73 loss to the No. 1 Arizona Wildcats, which snapped a six-game winning streak with victories over Robert Morris, Western Illinois, SMU, Virginia, Marquette, and Michigan State.
With the loss, the Badgers stand at a 7-3 record, which they’ll look to improve on Thursday against Jacksonville State, with tipoff scheduled for 6:00 P.M. CT on the Big Ten Network.
The game was initially scheduled for later in the evening, but was moved up to accommodate for Wisconsin’s Final Four volleyball game against Texas, which is set to begin at 8:30 P.M. CT.
Jacksonville State, standing at 4-6, have faced West Virginia earlier in the season, losing 70-57 in their biggest game of the year to date.
The Gamecocks have scored 67.6 points a game, but shoot just 43 percent from the field and 29 percent from three.
In Thursday’s game, the Badgers are seen as 19.5-point favorites, with the over/under set at 125.5 points.
Looking at the spread, it’s tough to pick a game like this one where the Badgers are favored by such a high amount, but I’m leaning towards the under on points.
Wisconsin is looking to rebound defensively, and hold a significant size advantage, which should allow them to control the pace.
As a result, with their three-point struggles, I don’t expect Jacksonville State to score as much as expected, leading to me picking the under.
Prediction: Under 125.5 points
