The #Badgers land true freshman TE Jackson McGohan from LSU.— Bucky’s 5th Quarter (@B5Q) December 14, 2023
Player with some good upside that initially committed to Cincinnati in 2022 under Luke Fickell. Ultimately went to LSU after Fickell left. https://t.co/6hWoyuYa1J
McGohan, a true freshman, was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2023, and was highly recruited coming out of high school.
In fact, McGohan had initially committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats in January of 2022 when Luke Fickell was still the head coach, but de-committed after the latter left and moved on to LSU.
One year later, McGohan is re-uniting with Fickell and his staff at Wisconsin, and joins a tight end room in need of depth.
Standing at 6’4, 235 pounds, McGohan played in eight games as a true freshman for LSU, burning his redshirt year, and will come to Wisconsin with sophomore eligibility.
McGohan had visited on an official to Wisconsin last weekend, and now becomes the fourth transfer to commit to the program this week, joining Cincinnati long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer, William & Mary outside linebacker John Pius, and Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke.
