The Wisconsin Badgers are set to face off against the Minnesota Golden Gophers this weekend, looking to end the regular season with a major win against their top rival.
Wisconsin will be looking to reclaim the Axe Trophy for the first time in three years, facing a Gophers team that has gone 5-6 this season, including 3-5 in conference play.
The Gophers have struggled after a solid start, losing three straight, which was topped by a 37-3 defeat to the Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend, keeping them still vying for bowl eligibility as the final game of the season approaches.
For the Badgers, they’ve endured a number of obstacles in head coach Luke Fickell’s first year at the helm, but finally gained bowl eligibility after a 24-17 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers last weekend.
Now, they finish their season against the Gophers, who have won three of the last five matchups after Wisconsin won 14 straight?
Can they win, and is it a successful season if they do?
