Badgers React: who should start at QB this week and is Paul Chryst on the hot seat? UPDATED WITH RESULTS

We have almost had a week since the disaster against Notre Dame occurred. It’s time to see if anyone has changed their mind and if opinions voiced after the heat of the moment have become less...spicy.

Starting quarterback Graham Mertz has had a terrible start to the season. You know it, I know it, he knows it, basically everyone knows it. Is it time for the Badgers to take a look at a different signal caller before their huge matchup against Michigan on Saturday? If there was a better option at QB, head coach Paul Chryst would’ve made a switch...right?

Speaking of Chryst: what would you like to see happen at the end of the season? Do you think Chryst should be run out of town and a new head coach hired or do you think Chryst should hire a young, exciting offensive coordinator to take over the play-calling and bring the Wisconsin offense into this decade?

UPDATE, 10/1/21, 2:44 p.m. CT:

Voting is now closed and we have our results! Almost half of the over 2,500 responses we received think that Mertz should remain the starter for this week. I am inclined to agree, but we’ll see how we all feel on Saturday afternoon.

While, for our second question, an overwhelming 82% of you want Paul Chryst to fire himself as offensive coordinator and bring in someone new. Again, I think this is the correct answer as Chryst has proven himself to be a well above average head coach. Recruiting has been improving too and we shouldn’t forget that while in the middle of the season.
