Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Commitment ranges (lmao) set
- 4-star IOL Carson Hinzman (Hammond) quietly announced his top-three schools on Monday. He is down to Wisconsin, Ohio State and Minnesota and is planning on announcing in early October. Long considered a Wisconsin lean, we’ll hopefully have some closure on Hinzman’s recruitment here in a couple of weeks.
And then there were three... top offensive lineman recruit from St. Croix Central, Carson Hinzman (@HinzmanCarson), with an update on his recruiting!

The #Badgers, #Buckeyes, and #Gophers in the top three... Carson hopes to make his decision in early October! pic.twitter.com/Ep70FuZJnr
- 2023 4-star QB Brayden Dorman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) announced on Twitter earlier this week that he’ll be making his college decision...sometime in the month of February. The Badgers are considered one of the favorites to land the talented signal caller and he would be an excellent start to their ‘23 class.
I will be committing sometime in the month of February! @WeAreVR_FB @Coach22V @CoachDooleyVR @TJenkinsElite

Men’s hoops unofficial visitors
- Badger247’s Evan Flood reported on Tuesday that Greg Gard and the Badgers would have two more unofficial visitors on campus in October. They both just so happen to come from Wisconsin basketball feeder academy Lakeville (Minn.) North! 2024 shooting guard Jack Robison will be in town on Oct. 2 and 2023 forward Nolan Winter will head over to Madison on Oct. 16.
