Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
New offers
- 2023 3-star (247 Sports only) DE Tyler Gant (St. Louis) out of Christian Brothers College High School received an offer on Monday from Wisconsin. Gant has also received offers from Arkansas State, Eastern Michigan, Iowa State, Kansas and Kentucky so far. Rivals notes that Kansas State is showing interest as well.

God is so good! Work to be done @BadgerFootball @CoachKolodziej @TheBuckycast @CBCFootball #OnWisconsin #Lineman pic.twitter.com/HseiQoojhF
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in the neighborhood of 265 pounds, Gant is ranked as the No. 51 DL and No. 10 player in Missouri by the 247 Sports standalone rankings. Gant’s Hudl tape looks pretty good. He shows the ability to win battles in a phone booth, moving offensive linemen around so he can make tackles in the backfield. I also liked that when he couldn’t get to the quarterback he instinctively knew when to put his hands up to tip or knock down passes.
Gant has prototypical size and a beatable offer list right now, so you have to like the Badgers chances here.
- 2023 RB Kaden Moorman (Frankfort, Ky.) out of Franklin County High School received his first FBS offer on Monday from the Badgers. Moorman is unranked, and just got a profile page on 247 Sports Tuesday morning while I was writing this, but seems like a guy who will end his fall season with dozens of offers. Here is a good article from Evan Flood at 247 ($) talking to Moorman after the offer.
After an awesome camp experience, I am beyond blessed to receive my first D1 offer from the University of Wisconsin! #OnWisconsin @CoachGebhardt @GaryBrownUW @BadgerFootball pic.twitter.com/6XscbDk2jt

Standing at 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Moorman has a pretty impressive highlight tape for a sophomore. He shows toughness running between the tackles, the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and some good speed in the open field. I think it could pay off in the long run that the Badgers got in first here because he should garner some looks from teams in the SEC and ACC after his junior year.
- 2022 3-star DT Kenneth Grant (Merrillville, Ind.) out of Merrillville High School also received an offer from Wisconsin coming out of Monday’s camp in Madison. Grant has over a dozen offers from the likes of Arizona State, Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue and a good portion of the MAC.
I am very blessed to receive another offer from @BadgerFootball I want to thank @CoachBostadUW @CoachKolodziej ,Coach Chryst and the rest of the @BadgerFootball staff #gobadgers❤️ pic.twitter.com/3RBj86fQjV

Grant is one of the most physically imposing players I’ve ever seen at the high school level. He is 6-foot-4 and weighs north of 330 pounds. He is ranked as the No. 73 defensive lineman in the country by 247Sports and the No. 9 player in Indiana. While being ranked by both Rivals and 247, he doesn’t have a Composite rating yet but one could assume that he’d be a 3-star since that what he is on both sites.
His first highlight is a play where there is a sort of middle screen play and he recognizes it and chases down the running back. It is a smart opening play choice for a player of his size as it shows he isn’t just a space-eating run stuffer. It’s hard to tell how good he is just because he is so much bigger than his competition, but he definitely has a high ceiling and getting him in a college strength and conditioning program could really turn him into an all-conference caliber player.
