Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
June 7th Campers
- 2023 in-state QB Chase Spellman (Wales) will be camping in Madison on Monday. The Kettle Moraine signal caller doesn’t have any offers yet, but the Badgers have been interested in him for a bit and are probably just waiting to see him in person before offering. Cincinnati, Georgia, Iowa State, Northwestern, Penn State and a few others have also been showing interest.

- 2022 3-star (247 Sports only) TE Andrew Keller (Waunakee) will apparently be on campus to work out with QB Graham Mertz on Monday, per a source. Yes, we have those! I know, I’m as surprised as the next guy! While the in-state prospect hasn’t been offered yet all signs point to him receiving an offer on Monday. Iowa and Iowa State have been pushing hard for Keller, but it has long been thought that if the Badgers offered it would be a game changer.
- Another QB will be on campus for the Badgers on Monday. 2023 QB Anthony Picciolini (Lisle, Ill.) out of Benet Academy (alma mater of Frank Kaminsky!) is another arm that Wisconsin will evaluate. I couldn’t find a recruiting profile of Picciolini on either major recruiting site, but with Illinois playing a spring football season he just may not have been seen by a ton of people yet.

- There are obviously going to be a ton more campers in Madison and we’ll have posts about any offers that come out of it!
