After earning a camp offer from the Wisconsin Badgers back in early June, athlete Cade Yacamelli wasted very little time scheduling an official visit to Madison for this past weekend. The day after leaving campus the Harrison City, Pa. product announced his commitment to the Badgers on Monday afternoon and is now the fourth commitment, and second on Monday, in the class of 2022.

A three-star prospect according to both 247 Sports and Rivals, Yacamelli could project to play multiple different positions with the Badgers. A standout at Penn Trafford High School he played all over the field for his high school team, frequently lining up at running back, wide receiver, safety, and punt returner. In total, he amassed over 1200 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns.

In terms of fit with the Badgers, safety appears on the surface to make the most sense, but he could also play the slot on offense given his 6-foot, 200-pound frame. His recruitment and play style closely mirrors fellow Pennsylvanian Preston Zachman who is a current safety for Wisconsin and was a do-it-all athlete coming out of high school as well.

Yacamelli chose the Badgers over other offers from the Air Force, Army, Navy, and a smattering of Ivy League and FCS schools.

An impressive athlete, Yacamelli is tough to tackle and fast in the open field. His Hudl profile lists a 4.48 40-yard dash time and a 3.95 shuttle time, to go along with 25 reps on the bench press. He appears to be another high football IQ player that could help out in many different facets of the game including special teams when he steps on campus.

With this commitment, the Badgers are now up to four commits in the class of 2022, and are slowly starting to climb up the recruiting rankings after a slow start. In the midst of another gigantic official visit weekend, Wisconsin appears to be on a recruiting run of sorts that could continue with another big weekend on tap for June 25.
