With another big time recruiting weekend on the horizon, the Wisconsin Badgers (hopefully) got the commitment train rolling a little early on Wednesday evening. 2022 ATH Jackson Trudgeon (Madison) accepted a preferred walk-on spot from UW only one week week after being offered.
Excited to announce that I have accepted a PWO offer to continue my academic and football career at the University of Wisconsin! Thank you to all family, coaches and teammates that have made this possible. #OnWisconsin @BadgerFootball @Crusaders_FB @CoachHaering @jimleonhard pic.twitter.com/d6rqqj8fno

Trudgeon is a product of Edgewood High School and stands 6-foot-1 while weighing around 175 pounds. His Hudl profile lists him as playing wide receiver and safety, while his 247 Sports profile page marks him to be a safety. In eight games last year he had 37 catches for 552 yards and eight touchdowns while recording 77 tackles (59 solo) and two picks on defense.
As we said when Trudgeon got the offer, him committing to UW isn’t a huge surprise:
Another athletic kid with a ton of upside, this is another smart PWO offer from the Badgers. Again, I could see Trudgeon receiving offers from FCS schools and maybe get some MAC looks as well, but he literally plays his high school football down the street from Camp Randall so the pull to stay home could be strong.
The Badgers will look to keep the momentum going this weekend when they welcome a number of players to Madison for their official visits.
