The talented Texan doesn’t have an offer from UW yet, but he should get one soon.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (or more often since we are in Uncertain Times and there aren’t actual sports going on) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

New unofficial visitor

  • 2023 CG Finley Bizjack (Trophy Club, Texas) out of Byron Nelson High School is planning on coming up to Madison and visit this summer. Bizjack currently has offers from Stanford, TCU, UT-Arlington and DePaul, but a lot of the online scuttlebutt is that the Badgers will be extending an offer to him soon. Texas Tech and Oral Roberts are also showing interest.

It has been reported that Wisconsin legend, and former Dallas Mavericks guard, Devin Harris is family friends with Bizjack and put him in contact with Greg Gard and the Badgers. Jon McNamara over at BadgerBlitz has a nice post with some quotes from Bizjack about that relationship and what Harris has told him about Madison.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 170 pounds, Bizjack isn’t rated by Rivals or 247 yet but that isn’t unusual for 2023 players, especially since there was a lost year of in-person evaluation.

Rob Cassidy of Rivals was able to evaluate Bizjack in person back at the end of March at an AAU event in Carrollton, Texas and he had glowing things to say about him.

“Bizjack turned in one of the weekend’s most impressive performances by a sophomore and certainly has the look of a top-100 prospect. Playing against a talented Texas Impact squad on Sunday, the Dallas-area combo guard poured in 24 points and doled out a handful of impressive assists in a comfortable win. Bizajack is known for his scoring but he did some impressive work on the glass over the weekend as well.”

Bizjack is definitely a player to keep an eye on as Gard and the Badgers start filling out their recruiting board for 2023.
