Coming off of a little something we like to call back to back national championship seasons, the Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey team received their 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday morning. Per usual, UW’s conference schedule is loaded with challenging opponents while the Badgers will also face two teams they’ve never played before.

First, let’s talk about the new teams! The Badgers second series of the season, after opening on the road against Lindenwood on Sept. 24 and 25, is at Merrimack College (North Andover, Mass.) on Oct. 1 and 2. UW, and the rest of WCHA, welcome University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.) to the conference this year. The Tommies made the jump from D-III to D-1 this offseason and will host the Badgers on Nov. 19 and 20 and then travel to Madison for a three game set Jan. 14-16.

UW’s third and final non-conference series is against Quinnipiac on Jan. 1 and 2. The home opener, and WCHA opener, is on Oct. 8 when the Badgers welcome St. Cloud State to La Bahn Arena for a three game series. Wisconsin has eight home series and nine road series this upcoming season.

The WCHA First Round starts on Feb. 25 at campus sites and the Final Five will be on March 5 and 6 in Minneapolis. The NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals are on March 12 at campus sites and the Frozen Four is March 18 and March 20 at Penn State.

Per the UW press release about the schedule, “ticket information for the upcoming 2021-22 season will be announced in the upcoming week, along with specific dates and times.”
