Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Wisconsin Badger fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.
In the latest release of the reacts polls the nation was asked about the recent changes made to the transfer portal rules. It seems to be the main topic across the country in college athletics. So, what does the SB Nation world think of the transfer portal and immediate eligibility? Well, overwhelmingly fans approve of the immediate eligibility rule.

What about making the change in eligibility permanent for a one-time transfer? Fans also agree with this possible decision, but not by the same margin.

How about the impact on their own individual team? No specific breakdown of how Wisconsin fans feel like on this one, but nationally fans seem to think it won’t cause any major disruptions in their respective locker rooms. Badgers fans have already seen some activity in the transfer portal with multiple departures and arrivals. At this time, the Badgers are net even with players coming and departing.

In addition to the transfer rules, each fan base was asked if they felt their basketball program was headed in the right direction. For Wisconsin fans, as you can see below, confidence is not at its highest. Currently, 53% of the fans feel the program is not headed in the right direction. I think that is fair at this point in time. There is no doubt the program had a disappointing year in 2020, and many were left with a bad taste in their mouth from how it went.

With a new wave of players getting the bulk of the minutes next year it will be interesting to see how fan confidence moves in one direction or the other. We’ve got a long way to go until then, but there is no doubt the fan base is expecting some growing pains in 2021, but will it be all that worse? We’ll have to wait and see!
