It has been a busy few weeks for the Wisconsin Badgers football team on the class of 2022 trail as offers have been going out left and right but work does not appear to be done in 2021 just yet. In the latest move, the Badgers picked up a commitment from Owen Arnett out of Hartland Arrowhead. Arnett will join the Badgers as a preferred walk-on in the class of 2021.
After talking with my family, I’ve had a slight change of plans and I have decided to stay home and take a PWO to Wisconsin! Thank you to all the coaches throughout the recruiting process. #OnWisconsin pic.twitter.com/EhSKFeaSU1

Before committing to Wisconsin, Arnett was recruited by a host of schools including Iowa, Michigan State, Illinois and Virginia. Previously Arnett was committed to Virginia as a walk-on but flipped over to the Badgers after the preferred walk-on spot was offered.
Arnett is classified as an athlete after playing on both sides of the football for in-state powerhouse Hartland Arrowhead. On offense, Arnett lined up in a variety of spots including tailback and wide receiver. On defense, Arnett lined up for the bulk of his snaps at outside linebacker.
In high senior highlight tape, Arnett shows that he has a real knack for the outside linebacker spot. He possesses a strong ability to come off the edge as a pass rusher, but he is also able to drop into pass coverage and make plays on the ball when needed. His versatility at the position is exactly what Jim Leonhard looks for in his players, and that should allow Arnett to hopefully fit into the mold at UW.
