Last week, the Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team was ready to play Northwestern before that series was cancelled because of COVID concerns.
Wisconsin was set to play Minnesota on Thursday for a huge top-five Big Ten match-up that was going to be UW’s first match since February when they were on a COVID pause of their own.
Big words, supposed to.
Once again, the Badgers will have to wait even longer to get back onto the court as that huge match-up against Minnesota was postponed because of COVID-19 concerns.
Here’s the statement from UW Athletics:
“Thursday’s volleyball match between Wisconsin and Minnesota in the UW Field House has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions and injuries on the Golden Gopher team. The decision was based on guidance from the University of Minnesota medical staff and student-athletes available to participate.”
Obviously, this is a huge bummer again, but we hope that everyone is safe and ready to go whenever Wisconsin’s next game will take place. Since the statement didn’t mention Sunday’s game with Minnesota that game could still be played...we hope.
