The senior laden Badgers have one more chance to cement their legacy. This is March, after all.

After an up and down season the Wisconsin Badgers (17-12 overall, 10-10 Big Ten) finally know where they are heading for the NCAA Tournament. Well, “heading” is a relative term as UW is already in Indianapolis and the entire tournament will take place in the Hoosier State, but you know what we mean.

The Badgers are the 9-seed in the South Region and will be facing off with the 8-seed North Carolina Tar Heels (18-10 overall, 10-6 ACC) out of the ACC in the first round. We will learn times and TV networks later in the week, but this year the NCAA Tournament doesn’t start on Thursday, but Friday instead. So, keep that in mind for your potential “long lunches” this week.

Wisconsin lost to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals after beating Penn State in the second round. The Tar Heels beat Notre Dame and Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament before falling to Florida State by three points. The winner of Wisconsin/UNC will play the winner of No. 1 seed Baylor Bears/No. 16 seed Hartford Hawks in the second round.

We will have much more on the tourney and the Badgers first round matchup throughout the week. Strap in folks, it’s go time!
