After a two-week pause due to COVID-19 concerns in the program, the Wisconsin Badgers were all set to return to action this weekend, much to the delight of this, the premier Badgers’ volleyball blog.
However, the wait will continue for the No. 1 team in the country, as this weekend’s series against Northwestern was postponed.
In a statement, Wisconsin volleyball said:
“This weekend’s volleyball series between Wisconsin and Northwestern has been postponed due to a pause in the Wildcats’ team activities. The decision to postpone was mutually agreed upon and the institutions will work with the Big Ten Conference to identify rescheduling options.”
The Badgers paused team activities February 25 before a series scheduled against Nebraska. That evening, the two week pause was announced because of COVID cases in Wisconsin’s program. Wisconsin returned to practice on Monday of this week and there was much rejoicing.
For undefeated and top ranked Wisconsin, the next scheduled game will be against the No. 5 Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday, March 18 at 7:00 pm. It will be aired live on Big Ten Network.
