Wisconsin Badgers TE Clay Cundiff suffered a right leg injury during the win over Iowa on Saturday afternoon. He was taken directly from Camp Randall Stadium to the UW Hospital where he was later released on early Saturday evening.

UW officials sent out this message on Saturday:

Oct. 30, 2021

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin sophomore TE Clay Cundiff was transported to UW Hospital for evaluation and treatment after suffering an injury to his right leg during the third quarter of Saturday’s game vs. Iowa.

Cundiff was released from the hospital this evening. Further treatment for his injury and a timeline on his recovery are to be determined.

While nothing was said about a recovery timetable in the release, the fact that there will be “further treatment” leads us to believe that we won’t see Cundiff back on the field any time soon. So far this season, Cundiff has three catches for 86 yards and a touchdown while being an important part of Wisconsin’s run game with his blocking.

We wish Cundiff a healthy and speedy recovery and hope to see him don the Cardinal and White as soon as he’s able.
