On Monday morning, the Big Ten Conference announced their weekly football awards and Wisconsin Badgers RB Braelon Allen won the Freshman of the Week award after rushing for over 100 yards in a win against Army on Saturday night.

Allen rushed 16 times for 108 yards (6.75 avg.) and a touchdown against the Black Knights, making this his second straight game breaking the century mark on the season. He is the first Wisconsin true freshman to accomplish the feat since Jonathan Taylor had four straight 100-yard rushing performances in 2017.

This is Allen’s first Freshman of the Week award from the Big Ten and the first time a Wisconsin freshman has won the award since QB Graham Mertz won it last season after his performance against Illinois.

Allen and the Badgers travel to Purdue to take on the newly ranked Boilermakers who are coming off a massive upset of formerly No. 2 Iowa. Hopefully we get a healthy dose of Allen and Chez Mellusi running out the clock in the fourth quarter for a win.
