Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
New offers
- 2023 3-star WR/CB/ATH Rohan Fluellen (Gilmer, Texas) out of Gilmer High School announced earlier this week that he has received an offer from the Badgers. Fluellen has other offers from Houston, Marshall, Pitt, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee, UTSA and Western Kentucky. According to his 247 profile page, he also plays basketball and stars on his school’s track team.
Blessed and thankful to the most high to receive an big 10 offer to the university of Wisconsin #AGTG @CoachWhitted @BadgerFootball @seancooper_C4 @donk333 @SkysTheLimitWR @Rivals @justinwells2424 pic.twitter.com/Va74tTrDBX

Standing at 6-foot-0 and weighing 170 pounds, Fluellen is rated as the No. 373 player and No. 33 ATH in the class of 2023 by the 247Compostie. He is also the No. 64 player in Texas. With Alvis Whitted being the coach to extend the offer to Fluellen, we can assume that he is being recruited as a wideout by Wisconsin.
During the 2020 season, he had 67 catches for 965 yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded 33 tackles and six interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. Fluellen shows soft hands and an ability to make catches in traffic. I have a feeling he’ll be getting some more looks from bigger schools in Texas soon.
- 2022 QB Brendan Sorsby (Lake Dallas, Texas) received a PWO offer from Wisconsin on Thursday, according to Jon McNamara. Based on some brief Twitter sleuthing, it looks like Travian Blaylock’s father, Derrick, may have been helpful in Wisconsin and Sorsby getting together.
Wow! Blessed to receive my first opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin! ❤️ @BadgerFootball @CoachWhitted @efjohnson1972 pic.twitter.com/8sSvUMVsGn

Sorsby is 6-foot-3 and weighs just over 200 pounds. The Badgers don’t often get walk-ons from out of state, but Sorsby does have a live arm and would definitely be worth getting on campus to see what he can do in person.
Badgers make top-eight
- 2023 3-star (Rivals only) CB Tristen Sion (Tallahassee, Fla.) announced his top-eight earlier this week and Wisconsin made the cut. The other seven schools are Ole Miss, LSU, Buffalo, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Florida Atlantic and Michigan State. That’s a wide ranging list of schools in terms of geography, so the Badgers could be in good shape here if they get him on campus next season for a visit.

Twitter sleuthing
- 2023 4-star LB Tackett Curtis (Many, La.) was chatting with Nick Herbig earlier this week and it’s clear that he is still very interested in coming north and maybe playing for UW. This would be a huge recruiting win for the Badgers.
