Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (or more often since we are in Uncertain Times and there aren’t actual sports going on) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

New offer

  • 2022 unranked WR Joseph Griffin, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) out of Springfield Central High School announced on his Twitter account Tuesday that he had received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers. According to 247Sports, Griffin also has offers from in-state Boston College and UMass so far.

Griffin, who is currently unranked by the major recruiting services, stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 185 pounds. He already has ideal size for the next level and can go up and win jump balls against defensive backs. As far as I can tell from the beginning of his Hudl tape, his high school offense is being coordinated by Rex Grossman because every play their QB says “fuck it, I’m going deep” and heaves it to Griffin.

All three of Griffin’s offers have come this week so his recruitment is basically just beginning. With the Badgers getting in first, one would assume that they’d hang around once other schools come calling.
