Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (or more often since we are in Uncertain Times and there aren’t actual sports going on) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Badgers make cut down list for DT
- 2021 3-star DT Marquise Brunson (Virginia Beach, Va.) out of Princess Anne High School cut down the schools he was considering to 11 on Wednesday afternoon. The Wisconsin Badgers made the cut, as well as N.C. State, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Old Dominion, Pitt, FIU, James Madison, Tennessee, UConn and Maryland.

The Badgers offered Brunson back in April, on the same day they offered 2021 3-star DL Mike Jarvis who has committed to UW, and have been considered to be one of his favorites since.
Brunson is listed at 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds and is rated as the No. 1,581 player in the country, No. 89 DT and No. 48 player in Virginia by the 247 Composite. Those rankings are all down from where he was ranked when the Badgers offered. We’ll keep tabs on Brunson, but despite the early mutual interest there is talk that things may have cooled between the DT and UW.
