Thanks to an open records request, the inimitable fbschedules.com reported last week that the Wisconsin Badgers would be opening the 2025 season at Camp Randall Stadium against the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks. Wisconsin will pay Miami a $1.6 million guarantee for the contest, according to the copy of the contract.

The Badgers and RedHawks have played one other time, back in 2015 when Wisconsin shut out Miami (Ohio) 58-0.
With the addition of Miami (Ohio) to the 2025 schedule the Badgers are now all set on non-conference games for that season. After opening with the RedHawks, Wisconsin welcomes the North Texas Mean Green to Madison in Week 2 and then travels to Tuscaloosa, Alabama in Week 3 for a showdown with the Crimson Tide.
In B1G play, Wisconsin is scheduled to host Iowa (Sept. 20), Ohio State (Oct. 11), Michigan State (Oct. 25), Purdue (Nov. 1) and Northwestern (Nov. 22) and play at Nebraska (Oct. 4), Maryland (Nov. 8), Illinois (Nov. 15) and Minnesota (Nov. 29).
Wisconsin has a number of intriguing non-conference matchups coming up in the next few seasons including Notre Dame (Green Bay 2020, Chicago, Ill. 2021), Appalachian State (2020), Army (2021), Washington State (2022, Pullman, Wash. 2023) and Alabama (2024, Tuscaloosa, Ala. 2025).
