Madison-native and redshirt junior tight end, Jake Ferguson has become the fourth Badger this summer to be added to a national award’s watch list. Ferguson is one of 36 tight ends on the John Mackey Award watch list, which is given to the nation’s top tight end at season’s end.

Better believe they found room for our guy Ferg on that list.

As a sophomore, Ferguson caught 33 passes, for 407 yards and two touchdowns, while nursing a thumb injury early in the season. For his career at Wisconsin, he has 69 receptions, 863 yards and six touchdowns.
Ferguson’s addition to the watch list is no surprise given his back-to-back 400-yard-seasons and his improved blocking skills, as he has progressed in cardinal and white. And with the departures of Quintez Cephus and A.J. Taylor, Ferguson could see the ball coming his way more in 2020, as well.
Ferguson joins teammates; Nakia Watson, Jack Coan and Jack Sanborn, who have also been added to award watch lists at their positions.
