Wisconsin football recruiting: Twitter reacts to Braelon Allen’s commitment

Everyone was pumped! Even Coach Dad, presumably.

If you, like a normal person, didn’t have Twitter pulled up on your phone all evening you may have missed that 2022 4-star safety Braelon Allen (Fond du Lac) announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers! The 2022 class in the state of Wisconsin is loaded, with six 247Sports 4-stars, and securing the first domino may cause others to fall.

What did everyone have to say on the ol’ Twitter machine about the Allen commitment? Let’s take a look!

  • Firstly, the new class of 2022 hashtag was revealed, as Allen is the first member of the rising junior class. The kids, they love light cursing...and so do I.
  • Noted Wisconsin-Whitewater offensive line graduate assistant coach and NFL Draft expert Owen Riese likes that the fence is still up around the state.
  • There was never a 4-star defensive back from the state of Wisconsin in the internet recruiting era until Hunter Wohler in the 2021 class. Then there was another one in the 2022 class. They are both committed to Wisconsin. Bout to be ALL SORTS OF CRAZY IN THAT MADISON SECONDARY!
  • Another member of the “Super Six” is 2022 Sun Prairie DE Issac Hamm who, along with having an excellent last name, is extremely talented himself. He seems pleased that Allen is coming to UW.
  • Lotta defensive back love online Tuesday night, including from 2021 CB Ricardo Hallman! The secondary has traditionally been an area where the Badgers have been exploited against the top tier teams in the country but Jim Leonhard and co. are trying to rectify that situation with these upcoming classes.
  • One of the biggest additions to the 2021 class so far, 4-star EDGE rusher T.J. Bollers likes the way the future of the defense is looking.
  • Even if you’re on defense you still want the quarterback on your side and 2021 QB commit Deacon Hill is jacked about Allen’s commitment.
  • In fact, just to be safe, keep all the quarterbacks on the roster on your side.

This was a big get for the Badgers and hopefully there are a few more 2022 ‘Crootin Cannons firing in the near future.
