Wisconsin football recruiting: what will the 2022 recruiting class hashtag be?

Twitter and Instagram have revolutionized the recruiting landscape, how might the staff further effort that in 2022?

Over the past few recruiting cycles the Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting staff has turned up their social media presence, frequently tweeting out a class specific hashtag to indicate a new commitment for that particular cycle. The move on Twitter has been a fun way to pump up the fan base about an impending announcement, while still following the NCAA guidelines.

The staff jump started their efforts in 2020 with the #BadgerBoiz20 movement, and the current 2021 class has used #Wiscon21n — with the emoji W hands in place of the actual letter — to signal a commitment for the current group.

The 2022 in-state class has already garnered immense excitement with six players all rated as four-star prospects, and each holding an early offer from the homestate school. While those key prospects all appear ready to patiently wait before making their decision, the Badgers have added an early commitment before October of their junior year in each of the past four cycles.

Reggie Pearson committed for the 2018 class back in August of 2017, Leo Chenal picked the Badgers in early September of 2018 before having the chance to sign over a year later, Jack Nelson chose Wisconsin over two years before signing day, and for the 2021 class both JP Benzschawel and Deacon Hill were committed before July 1 of 2019.

With that in mind, now appears as good a time as ever to speculate as to what the commitment hashtag for the 2022 class might look like before the first domino falls.

I will preface this by acknowledging that the Wisconsin recruiting staff has probably already figured out their hashtag and it is probably way cooler than anything we at B5Q come up with, but let’s take a stab at some possible ideas and open this up for more great options from our readership.

#BadgerCrew22 has a nice ring to it and includes some rhyming aspects.

But what about #BadgerBreakThrough22? A little wordy, but nonetheless compelling given the high number of four-star prospects from within the state.

Maybe something simple like #BuckyBunch22, or possibly #Paul’s2022Pals really gets the juices flowing for you.

#BuckyOn22s is a fun way to pay homage to David Banner’s 2003 hit single, however #Buckys22Crew is also a strong option.

Indubitably you the readers are much more creative than me and will have some better options, so let us know what you think. Consider this a coloring contest of sorts. There are no wrong answers.

Also, Minnesota football had another decommitment yesterday...enjoy.
