Wisconsin football’s class of 2021 continues to trend upward as the Badgers picked up another commitment this Monday afternoon. 3-star (247 Composite) cornerback Ricardo Hallman out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he attended University High School, announced his commitment on Twitter. Hallman is recruit No. 15 in the 2021 class, the first cornerback and the fourth 2021 commit in the month of June.

Hallman is the next defensive back prospect to come to Wisconsin out of the state of Florida. It appears that the pipeline that has worked so well for Wisconsin is still going strong as Hallman tweeted out the message below, before eventually announcing his commitment to the Badgers.

Hallman is a 3-star cornerback with a composite rating of 0.868 by 247 Sports. At 6-foot and 183 pounds, Hallman possess good size for a cornerback coming out of high school. Over the last few months Hallman’s recruitment really picked up steam as he earned offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Arkansas and Penn State before eventually choosing the Wisconsin Badgers.

Hallman’s highlight tape is an impressive one, and to me he looks like a very underrated prospect that the Badgers managed to land. On his tape, Hallman shows very strong ball skills. Many of Hallman’s interceptions were plays where he closed the gap, grabbed the interception, and then made things happen once the ball was in his hands with two pick sixes early on in his junior year highlights. You can see his tape below.

With a lot of the depth in the cornerback room at UW right now, the Badgers only took one corner (Max Lofy) in the class of 2020. As some of that depth starts to age and graduate, it will be key for the Badgers to land some prospects at the cornerback position and it appears they’ve taken their first step in that direction with Hallman. Wisconsin will look to add one more cornerback in this class and the smart money is on Robert (RJ) Regan, a 3-star talent out of California.
