WISCONSIN FOOTBALL: JALEN BERGER IS GOING TO WEAR NO. 8 THIS YEAR

It’s time to break out your old Sojourn Shelton jerseys because incoming freshman running back Jalen Berger is rocking No. 8 this year for the Wisconsin Badgers, per his Instagram Story! Asher Low of the Locked On Badgers podcast had the information first, as far as we can tell.

If I may say something controversial, I don’t think that No. 8 is a good one for a running back, especially one of Berger’s caliber. Nos. 2, 5, 25, 34 are all far superior choices and hopefully he’ll consider them in the future. Berger was No. 3 in high school and that’s...fine I suppose. That will always be Allen Iverson’s number, regardless of sport so I’m a bit biased on that one.

No. 8 is a fine number for a cornerback, quarterback, safety, even a wide receiver I guess, but it doesn’t sit right with me as a running back number. Please stay tuned to Bucky’s 5th Quarter for more late night, jersey related content in the future.
