Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (or more often since we are in Uncertain Times and there aren’t actual sports going on) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
New offer
- 2021 3-star WR Eric McAlister (Azle, Texas) out of Azle High School received an offer from Paul Chryst and Alvis Whitted on Monday evening to play football for the Wisconsin Badgers. McAlister has offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, San Diego State, Texas State and Wyoming. 247Sports notes that Nebraska and Virginia Tech are probably the two front runners currently.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and around 180 pounds, McAlister possesses an ideal frame for a big-time wide receiver target. He is rated as the No. 800 player in the country, No. 115 WR and No. 106 player in Texas by the 247 Composite. Last year he had 60 catches for 1,437 yards and 23 touchdowns and was named first team all-district, according to his Hudl tape.
McAlister is fun to watch. He is elusive, tough and athletic. While he may not be the fastest guy on the team, he is definitely fast enough (and faster than most) and his long strides help him cover ground quickly. There are a couple of really nice high point catches in his highlight video that make you think he could be a lethal red zone target.
Definitely a player to keep an eye on as Wisconsin looks to grab a WR for their 2021 class.
