Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

New offer

  • 2021 3-star (247Sports standalone) S/ATH Beau Freyler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) out of Pine Creek High School received an offer from defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard and the Wisconsin Badgers. Freyler has over 20 offers, but Kansas State, Washington State and Iowa State appear to be in the lead for Freyler’s services. Nebraska, Michigan State and almost all of the Ivies have offered Freyler as well.

The 6-foot-2 and 195 pound Freyler is rated as the No. 125 ATH in the country by 247Sports and isn’t rated yet by Rivals. Based on the fact that Freyler tagged Leonhard in his post it would appear that the Badgers are recruiting him to play safety. The Badgers are instantly one of Freyler’s top offers and also have the added bonus of having his former teammate, 2020 commit CB Max Lofy, on the team.

Freyler is a long, rangy, athletic safety that could pair nicely with current 2021 commit Hunter Wohler (Muskego). He has good hands (he plays wide receiver too) which he shows off on both defense and offense for Pine Creek.

This seems like a nice player who hasn’t gotten a TON of Power 5 attention yet and could be someone who the Badgers really impress once they’re able to get him on campus.
