Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (or more often since we are in Uncertain Times and there aren’t actual sports going on) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

New offer

  • 2022 3-star (247 only) TE Elijah Brown (Huber Heights, Ohio) out of Wayne High School announced on Twitter Thursday afternoon that he had received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers. Brown has a handful of offers, mostly from schools around the B1G and MAC, like Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Purdue and Akron. He also has an offer from Southern Cal and has received interest from Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 230 pounds, Brown is ready to suit up for a B1G team next year, but is only a rising junior in high school. I feel sorry for the kids on the other teams in his conference. 247 Sports rates him as the No. 20 TE in the country and the No. 12 player in the state of Ohio.

He is, obviously, a load to bring down in the open field and shows a mean streak while finishing blocks. With two more years of high school ball left, Brown is a player that could definitely see his stock rise.

The Badgers have been making a lot of intriguing offers in the 2022 class recently and it will be exciting to see how it all plays out.
