Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Final 247 Sports team rankings
- 247 Sports released their final 2020 player rankings (linked above) two weeks ago and on Tuesday they released their final 2020 team rankings. The Wisconsin Badgers finished No. 27 in the country, their highest ranking since 2006 when the Badgers finished No. 20 (for the second year in a row).

Wisconsin ended up No. 4 in the B1G behind Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. The Hoosiers were the only team to bring in a 5-star recruit to the conference, PG Khristian Lander from Evansville, Ind. who reclassified from the 2021 class and signed his LOI on Monday.
The Badgers 2020 class contains six members (PWO Carter Gilmore from Hartland doesn’t factor into the 247 rankings), 4-star PF Ben Carlson and 3-stars C Steven Crowl, SG Johnny Davis, SG Jordan Davis and PG Lorne Bowman.
Final Rivals150 rankings
- Rivals also released their final Rivals150 rankings for the class of 2020. Two Badgers made the cut, No. 102 Ben Carlson and No. 130 Johnny Davis. Both players dropped a couple of spots in the final rankings but remain as 4-stars. Wisconsin is ranked as the No. 33 class in 2020 by Rivals. Indiana, Michigan and Illinois are all ahead of the Badgers in the B1G class rankings.
