Wisconsin football recruiting: Badgers make another two prospects’ cut lists

4-star DE TJ Bollers is the latest player to keep Wisconsin on his short list.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

Badgers make top-six

  • 2021 4-star DE TJ Bollers (Tiffin, Iowa) out of Clear Creek Amana High School dropped his top-six schools on Tuesday and the Wisconsin Badgers were included. If you can’t read the embedded tweet, Bollers also included Iowa State, Northwestern, Nebraska, Alabama and Cal on his list.

The 6-foot-3 and 240 pound DE was once thought to be an Iowa lean, because his father played football there, but the Hawkeyes aren’t even included in his new list so things have obviously changed over the past year. The Badgers, by all accounts, are in great shape with Bollers and there is a visit to Madison planned for the middle of June (obviously, that might not happen but it is still good to see it is on his mind). He also has visits planned to Iowa State and Cal.

Recruiting guru Tom Lemming notes in his scouting report of Bollers:

On Film–#88 shows good footwork and he’s fast and strong with quick hands. An expert pass rusher with moves and tenacity. One of those very athletic pass rushers with a quick first step, he’s very consistent. Highly productive, he shows the ability to bend off the edge and seems to understand blocking schemes. A rising star among the nation’s top pass rushing DE’s.

Lemming also notes that Bollers has a 4.0 GPA, which is why Cal and Northwestern are probably such enticing options for him off the field.

Badgers make top-10

  • 2021 3-star ATH Jordan Moore (Towson, Md.) out of Loyola Blakefield High School included the Badgers in his new top-10 list this week. The other schools on the list include UCLA, Maryland, Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, Boston College, Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

The 6-foot-2 and 175 pound ATH plays quarterback, wide receiver and cornerback in high school, but the Badgers are recruiting him as a wideout. He is an impressive athlete with a Brett Favreian ability to extend plays and make throws while falling down, but his vision while running is what impressed me the most. He could be a great “yards after the catch” type of player.

Moore, much like Bollers, is a smart kid with an offer list that proves it. The Badgers probably provide one of the best combos of education/football success in the country but if other schools are recruiting Moore is a quarterback it may be hard to beat them.
