Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Badgers make top-10
- 2021 3-star S Rod Moore (Clayton, Ohio) out of Northmont High School released his top-10 on Friday afternoon and the Wisconsin Badgers were included in his new list. If you can’t see the embedded tweet, these are the other nine teams that made the cut: Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Kentucky, Northwestern, Iowa State, Georgia Tech and Indiana.

According to his profile on 247, Moore has one official visit scheduled, to Michigan, this summer and that’s it. 247 also lists the Wolverines, Pitt, Cincinnati and Kentucky as “warm” while the other schools in his top-10 list are “cool.”
Moore received has initial offer from the Badgers during their Junior Day back at the beginning of March. Wisconsin also offered his teammate, Markus Allen, on the same day. At the time it was Moore’s best offer but now that Michigan is on the table too, it seems like he isn’t as enamored with Wisconsin as he once was.
He mentioned to Jake (hi Jake!) from AllBadgers that Wisconsin was in his top-three or top-five after coming to Madison, so maybe the Badgers still have some juice with him but if he’s a take at Michigan I’d wager he’ll end up there. The Wolverines have a number of higher rated safeties on their board right now, including 4-star JD Coffey from Texas, who they’d probably take before Moore, so I guess we’ll wait and see.
