This is going to be a good one, folks! Tonight at 8:00 p.m., I take on Ustreet of The Daily Gopher.
And I’m nervous.
Ustreet is a solid player, and is rated 1476 on chess.com under the username b3tt3rdeadthanred. After looking at several of his games, Ustreet typically plays a king’s pawn opening with the white pieces and a Sicilian defense against 1.e4 with the black pieces. Against 1.d4, Ustreet has played queen’s gambit declined.
Ustreet is a strong tactical player who will punish opponents’ mistakes. If there is one weakness, sometimes Ustreet will try to create aggression when none by making aggressive pawn moves.
In order for me to win, I need to parry Ustreet’s threats and take advantage of any small positional advantages I can get.
