Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

Riley Mahlman is going to San Antonio

  • 2021 4-star OT Riley Mahlman (Lakeville, Minn.) out of Lakeville South High School announced on Wednesday night, via his Twitter account, that he had been named to the 2021 All-American Bowl.

Mahlman is the only current Wisconsin recruit on the roster but last year the Badgers had four players selected to play in the game: OL Jack Nelson, OL Trey Wedig, OLB Nick Herbig and RB Jalen Berger, who you may remember committed during the game.

The Badgers 2021 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 5 on 247 Sports and No. 8 on Rivals so there may be a few more players selected to play in these postseason all-star games before all is said and done.

The game will be played on Saturday, January 4th in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is set for noon CT and it will be televised on NBC.
