The best Wisconsin teams to never win a championship

We will be discussing them this week and hopefully provide some good memories despite, you know, the Badgers not winning.

This week, across all of the SB Nation team sites, we will be sharing memories of the best teams to never win a championship. As a fan of Philadelphia sports teams I have a personal list of great teams that never won championship, including this year’s Philadelphia Flyers team that was definitely, 100% lock going to win the Stanley Cup.

Obviously for the Wisconsin Badgers there are a couple of teams that immediately jump out: the 2014 and 2015 men’s basketball teams, the 2019 volleyball team, any number of Wisconsin football teams of the past decade, the 2012 women’s hockey team and surely there are more.

We’ll have a couple of posts this week featuring our favorite teams that could have been champions if only the ball had bounced differently or the refs hadn’t been afraid of Coach K. Which Wisconsin teams from your memory bank are the greatest that never won a championship? It doesn’t even need to be the national title, because there have been plenty of good Badgers teams that didn’t even win their conference.
