Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
- 2021 4-star WR Marcus Burke (Jacksonville, Fla.) of Trinity Christian Academy was offered by the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday afternoon. The Florida Gators appear to be the team to beat in Burke’s recruitment according to Burke himself, but Georgia, Penn State, Georgia Tech and Miami (Fla.) are also in his top-five.

The 6-foot-3 and 180 pound wideout has excellent size and while his speed isn’t as top-end as the other two WRs the Badgers offered this week, he is by no means slow. There are many clips of him just running past defenders and then catching a dime dropped by his quarterback (who looked really impressive, btw, the Badgers should maybe shoot him an offer too).
If you watch his whole tape, you’ll also see some BLOCKING HIGHLIGHTS which I’m sure endeared himself to the Badgers coaching staff immediately.
I’ve enjoyed the Badgers offering these high end talents at a position of need but none of these last three players seem particularly “gettable” for Wisconsin. I know UW doesn’t offer a kid unless there is mutual interest and I know that the Badgers aren’t going to get every player they offer, these last three offers just seem a bit...out of reach. I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking this.
