Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

New offer

  • 2022 ATH Sebastian Cheeks (Evanston, Ill.) of Evanston Township High School got an offer on Wisconsin’s Junior Day in Madison on Saturday. The incredibly named Cheeks has also been offered by Iowa State, Central Michigan and Syracuse. Illinois is also showing some interest and one would imagine that Northwestern will eventually get in on the hometown kid.

247 has him listed as an ATH/WR while Rivals notes that he’s a running back. The 6-foot-2 and 200 pound rising junior also plays linebacker for his high school as can be seen here on his Hudl tape. Cheeks is quick off the snap and is in the backfield before a couple plays are even able to develop properly. He also shows good instincts in coverage. It is unclear where the Badgers foresee him playing, but he appears to be an impact player regardless of side of the ball.
