Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
New offer
- 2021 3-star WR Andrel Anthony (East Lansing, Mich.) of East Lansing High School received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday afternoon. The 6-foot-2 and 165 pound wideout is a hot commodity around the B1G, already having offers from Michigan, Maryland, Michigan State, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue.

He also has offers from Notre Dame, West Virginia, Iowa State, Cincinnati and most of the MAC schools you can think of. According to 247 Sports, the two Michigan B1G schools and the Fighting Irish are in the lead for Anthony’s services. The lanky receiver is one of the best in a talent-rich state, by upper Midwest standards, and is a good target for the Badgers.
Congrats to Andrel Anthony Jr. on being named to the 2019 Detroit Free Press All-State team! Another great honor!#EyeOfTradition pic.twitter.com/e4V9mV6XxT

Upon viewing his Hudl film you’ll notice a player that can beat press coverage at the line of scrimmage as well as one that is adept at longer developing routes with double moves. With his considerable height advantage over most defensive backs he can also go up and bring down jump balls.
It’s hard to say if the Badgers are getting in too late on Anthony, as he’s had offers from Michigan and Michigan State since last summer and Notre Dame since September. If the Badgers can get him on campus they have a chance to nose their way into his top-schools but otherwise this may be a tough get for Paul Chryst and co.
Badgers make cut for WR
- 2021 3-star WR Jaylin Noel (Kansas City, Mo.) of Park Hill High School has whittled his school choices down to a final six teams. In case your knowledge of school logos is limited, his list includes the Badgers, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska and Iowa State.

Noel was in Madison for the Iowa game this past season and received an offer then as well. The 5-foot-11 and 170 pound wideout is planning on making a return trip to Madison for Junior Day on March 1st according to Evan Flood.
