Wisconsin basketball recruiting: UW has 20% chance to have Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball

Plus, the Davis brothers keep doing awesome stuff.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

Commit updates

While Flood says that he had 15 rebounds and eight assists, the box score linked above has him with 16 boards and nine assists to go along with his two blocks and one steal. His twin brother Jordan added 11 points (4-of-12 shooting), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the game.

Crowl is averaging 26.7 points per game and Carlson is averaging 24.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. Marquette commit Dawson Garcia and Gonzaga commit Jalen Suggs are semifinalists as well.

The five finalists will be announced the week of February 24th and the winner will be announced at the Target Center during the Timberwolves/Pistons game on Sunday, April 5th.

Former Badgers news

  • I guess this is kind of recruiting news now, right?

Former Badgers wing Kobe King has a couple of potential destinations in mind for his next school. It would certainly be interesting to see King return to the Kohl Center in a conference rival’s jersey, but Xavier or Iowa State will give him much better chances at team success. One would assume that Marquette would reach out as well.
