Wisconsin football signee Antwan Roberts might be coming in at the bottom of the list of commitments in 2021 in terms of rankings, but he has the makings of a solid running back for Wisconsin.
The three-star running back from Hendersonville, Tenn. is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound back that has shown flashes of speed and ability out of the backfield, and could be a really good member of a backfield stable going forward.
Roberts is one of three running backs that Wisconsin signed this class. He’s joined by Loyal Crawford from Eau Claire and Jackson Acker from Verona who has been talked about as a likely candidate to change positions.
Roberts performed extremely well in his senior season in Tennessee, where fortunately for his school he was able to play despite the ongoing COVID outbreak. The standout tailback rushed for 1,130 yards and 19 touchdowns in just nine games for Pope John Paul II High School and had been split out wide as a receiver in the past with some success as well.

247Sports’ Badger writer Evan Flood wrote a scouting report on Roberts ($) based on his senior tape where he said he thinks Roberts could be a “late bloomer” for the Badgers.
“Given his slender body type, ability to get involved in the pass game, and his versatility...I think he’ll find a role for the Badgers whether he ends up as a starter or not,” Flood wrote. “I don’t necessarily see an All-Big Ten caliber player or maybe even eventual bell cow of UW’s offense depending on how he grows into his frame, but I see kid that can be effective in the Big Ten and offer a change of pace in a variety of different packages at a minimum.”
