Loyal Crawford put pen to paper on Wednesday and signed with the Badgers to bolster a class that features three possible tailbacks of the future. Crawford will join Jackson Acker of Verona, and Antwan Roberts of Hendersonville, Tenn. as a three-headed tailback group for the 2021 class.

Crawford possesses a lot of skills that you look for at the running back position. Not only is he a runner that can run between the tackles, but he can also get out in space and make plays in the passing game. Crawford is shifty in space and appears to have some breakaway speed that could really help him in all phases at the next level.

The running back room is a little crowded with this latest class bringing in three backs, but there is a strong possibility in movement among them. Acker has much more size and strength so there is certainly a possibility that he moves from tailback to fullback or a linebacker position. Antwan Roberts is a bigger back that will be used more like a bruiser, while Crawford appears to be more of your traditional three-down back.

He’ll have to battle with the likes of Jalen Berger and Julius Davis, but Wisconsin always finds a way to get the ball in their best backs hands, whoever it is.

Verbally committed on August, 1st 2019

Loyal Crawford’s recruitment was very condensed as he attended Wisconsin’s camp on June 1st, 2019 and was offered by the Badgers on July, 23rd 2019. Just over a week later he committed to Wisconsin. There was a late push by Big Ten foe Michigan State who seemed to be in contention to possibly flip Crawford. Despite the late push it wasn’t enough as Crawford held strong to his commitment and signed his letter of intent during the early signing period Wednesday.
