Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
- 2022 4-star WR Darrius Clemons (Portland, Ore.) out of Pleasant Grove (Utah) High School received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers on Monday afternoon, according to his Twitter account. Clemons has nearly 30 offers and is “warm” on Arizona State, Oregon, Penn State and Utah according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Boise State, BYU, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, UCLA, Virginia, Washington, Washington State and West Virginia among others.
After a great conversation with @CoachWhitted i’m excited to say i’ve received a HUGE scholarship offer from the University of Wisconsin! #OnWisconsin @BraelonAllen pic.twitter.com/CCgXUG7htv

There are two Crystal Ball predictions for Clemons on 247Sports, one to Penn State and one to Michigan State. According to Adam Gorney of Rivals ($) there are a couple of other schools standing out to Clemons, “Oregon, Arizona State, Notre Dame especially after that big win (Saturday) night [against Clemson] and Michigan, those are the ones I can think about right now,” Clemons said.”
As far as we can tell from some simple sleuthing, Clemons spent his first two high school seasons in Oregon but transferred to a school in Utah so he could play football this fall. You may have noticed that he tagged 2021 4-star S Braelon Allen (Fond du Lac) in his tweet. We reached out to Allen and apparently the two have been good buddies since the beginning of the year.
The 6-foot-3 and 200 pound wideout had a big season for Pleasant Grove as a junior, hauling in 37 receptions for 760 yards (20.5 ypc) and nine touchdowns. He also had 23 rushing yards and 68 kick return yards.
I couldn’t find any highlights from his junior year, but his sophomore tape shows a talented wide receiver that knows how to use his body to out-muscle and dominate smaller defensive backs.
He is rated as a 4-star by the 247 Composite, 247 standalone ratings and Rivals. His Composite rankings are No. 128 in the nation, No. 16 WR and No. 1 in the state of Utah. Even though the Badgers and wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted are a little late to the game, Clemons having a relationship with Allen already could convince him to come to campus, whenever that is allowed again.
