Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!

  • The Badgers still don’t have any commitments in the class of 2022 for football after 4-star S Braelon Allen (Fond du Lac) reclassified to 2021. There are still four members of the in-state Super Six out there (TE Jerry Cross (Milwaukee) is headed to Penn State) and one of them, 4-star DE Isaac Hamm (Sun Prairie) is announcing his final four on Friday.

You may remember that Hamm and Allen had a weightlifting contest about a month ago and if Allen won, Hamm would commit to Wisconsin. While Allen did end up winning, it was more of a fun Twitter distraction than any sort of binding commitment deal. The Badgers and Iowa are certainly going to be two of his final four, but it will be interesting to see which direction he goes with his other two schools.

  • Wednesday is the first day of the early signing period for men’s basketball and all three members of Wisconsin’s 2021 class are expected to sign. All three players are 3-stars and ranked between No. 134 and No. 149 nationally. Here they are:

Chucky Hepburn, PG, Bellevue, Neb.
Matthew Mors, PF, Yankton, S.D.
Chris Hodges, PF, Schaumburg, Ill.

We will have prospect profiles for all three players on Wednesday once UW officially announces them.
