Over the course of the last few months we’ve had installments that took a deep dive into each athlete on the Wisconsin football and men’s basketball team. Every day we had a new player that took the spotlight and we got to know him a little bit better. We learned about their background, their recruitment and what made them the special athletes they are today.

Now, with both of those series wrapped up, we decided to take a look at the people behind each of those posts. Yes, that’s right, the humble and handsome blogger. In this series you’ll get to know the keyboard warriors that give you sports opinions, beer takes, mascot rankings and reality show recaps. It’s not an easy job, or a hard one, but someone has to do it. (Editor’s note: do we?)

Favorite article/accomplishment with B5Q?

I think attending Big Ten media days for football season two summers ago was pretty cool. Drinking coffee next to Scott Frost and complimenting his Yeezy’s was a pretty odd moment. Only downside is I met P.J. Fleck and it made him human in my brain. Turns out he’s actually a super nice guy which makes it harder to troll him. Don’t fire me Drew. (Editor’s note: I’ll take it under consideration.)

Favorite Wisconsin sports memory?

So many...I think 408 is the winner for me, but attending the Rose Bowl this past January is up there. Had they won, it would be number one. Just a surreal place/experience that is worth the trip win or lose. Stocco sneak and David Gilreath’s return deserve mention as well.

Go to drink of choice?

Go to and favorite are two different things in my eyes. If you ask what can I get you to drink I’ll probably ask for a Miller Lite. However, a good Spotted Cow (winks at Jake) is hard to beat. Also really been liking IPAs lately so I guess I am a man now. Voodoo Ranger by New Belgium has been the winner recently.

You get one album to listen to for the rest of your life, what are you choosing and why?

Cleopatra by The Lumineers. They’re my favorite artist and it’s an album I can listen to front to back and never get tired of. Hard to leave behind Rumours by Fleetwood Mac or Led Zeppelin IV but at the end of the day I have to. My dogs name is Cleo because of that album. If you name your dog after it it better be your favorite, right?

Favorite book? Movie? Television show? Favorite book is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Movie, hmm, to be honest I am not a big movie/TV guy. I’d have to say The Dark Knight for movie. TV I basically just watch whatever game is on or The Office in the background. Game of Thrones would be my favorite but it doesn’t deserve my favoritism after that corny ass ending.

If money wasn’t a concern where would you live, what would you do, and what would your lifestyle look like?

I’d build a nice A frame cabin near Estes Park. I’d use that as a docking station though because I’d be in a converted van most of the time driving the country seeing National Parks and hitting some sporting events along the way.

What sport would you like to compete in professionally if you had the ability and skill to?

I think being a professional golfer sounds bomb. You just travel around to all these different places and play some golf. Sure winning a major is probably cool but getting paid to play golf everyday sounds like a dream. Running up and down a court, getting smashed by opposing linebackers, or playing 162 days in a row does not.

If you could know the truth behind any one secret or mystery, what would it be?

I need to hear the truth behind the moon landing, just so I can go out there and say I told you so. FAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
