Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Hitting the gym
- If you have been following along on Twitter over the past week, you will know that 2021 4-star S Braelon Allen (Fond du Lac) and 2022 4-star DE prospect Isaac Hamm (Sun Prairie) had a friendly wager going on in the weight room. If Allen, who is currently committed to UW, did more combined squats and bench press reps than Hamm, Hamm had to commit to Wisconsin.
Well?

Allen wins 30-28! Welcome to Madison, Isaac!
Of course, this wasn’t any sort of binding wager and Hamm is going to rightly take his time with this important decision. Wisconsin is fully expected to be on any sort of cutdown list that Hamm makes and many people who know recruiting things would place the Badgers in the top-two, if not the top spot.
I came up short today at 28 total reps. @BraelonAllen is a absolute warrior, no excuses coming from me. well played, but this wasn’t serious enough to make a lifetime decision. I’ll be narrowing it down soon. #OnWisconsin ⚪️

Badgers make cutdown list
- Speaking of cutdown lists for 2022 in-state prospects, 4-star OL/DL Billy Schrauth (Fond du Lac) has four teams that he is focusing on for the rest of his recruitment. In case you can’t see the tweet, he is considering Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and the Badgers.

The Crystal Ball picks on 247Sports are split evenly between the Fighting Irish and the Badgers with each team’s lead writer putting in a prediction for their team.
