Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
Basketball commits
- 3-star PG Lorne Bowman (Detroit, Mich.) does things on the basketball court that none of Wisconsin’s current crop of guards can do. It is exciting to see.

As the floor general for one of the top teams in the state, Bowman led his team to a win with 28 points while scoring from all over the court.

The Wisconsin commit hit a series of pull-ups and converted at the rim after hard drives in the paint @TheRealLorneB pic.twitter.com/tb5LTx4xwm
His coach, Todd Covert, had this to say after the win: “He a special player but he’s an even more special kid. He has such humility about him. He has so much humility on and off the court and he’s become such a great leader. He was phenomenal tonight.”
Covert went on to add: “If he’s not leading Mr. Basketball, he should be pretty close to it. He’s had four big-time wins already this year.”
- 2020 preferred walk-on Carter Gilmore (Hartland) has now scored the second most points in Arrowhead history! Looks like Carter gets the last slice of pizza in the Gilmore house now.
Most important- great team win last night! This was kind of fun... @CarterGilmore03 surpassed his dad’s Arrowhead point total. I dug up the 33 year old Rawlings souvenier to prove it. Brian likes to mention he didn’t have the three point line. ♀️ pic.twitter.com/4Yuc9nGGWi

Football commits at the All-America Bowl
- 4-star RB Jalen Berger (Ramsey, N.J.) picked Wisconsin in a “hat decision” over the weekend, which you probably heard about if you’re reading this post, and it was a HUGE win for the Badgers on the recruiting trail. While they weren’t part of his final list, Berger was still offered by Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and many, many other schools and he chose Wisconsin...on national tv!

- 4-star OL Trey Wedig (Wales) and 4-star OL Jack Nelson (Stoughton) got a chance for an early preview of what their time in Madison might be like playing with each other.
Love seeing this. @JackNelson755 @wedig_trey two Wisconsin boys and future Badgers starting together on the O-Line in the #AllAmericanBowl. pic.twitter.com/s1mxZpEx6y

These two are already protecting their running back, which you just love to see. Just look at how big Nelson and Wedig are! Why isn’t every running back in America lining up outside Paul Chryst’s office to play here???

Football targets at the All-America Bowl
- 2021 4-star DE TJ Bollers (Tiffin, Iowa) had a great showing at the All-America Bowl Combine. He was the best DE there and one of the best defensive players overall. He has a Wisconsin offer and would be a large piece of the 2021 puzzle for the Badgers. Bollers is also hearing a lot from Iowa, Iowa State, Cal, Nebraska and Army.

- 2022 4-star S Braelon Allen (Fond du Lac) is one of the top prospects in his class and has been considered a Wisconsin lean for a while. He was originally planning on announcing his commitment this week, but according to 247 he will be pushing that date back ($).
