Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (daily this week with all of the offers being given out) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
New offer
- 2023 QB Cameron Edge (Smyrna, Del.) of powerhouse DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) was the last prospect to receive an offer from the Badgers this past week. Now, I don’t recommend recruiting players on name alone but...Cameron Edge is both an excellent QB name AND an excellent 90s action hero who also does X-Games stuff name. 5-stars imo.
Beyond blessed to receive an offer from Wisconsin university. All glory to God. pic.twitter.com/jzIgvea1mi

Edge, a pro-style QB according to 247, already has offers from Maryland, LSU and UMass to go along with his new Wisconsin offer. He stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 pounds and is probably still growing since he’s just entering his sophomore year of high school. Even with him being only a freshman this past year, his highlight film shows some impressive throws.
Edge received his first career start this year in a 34-20 loss at No. 1 St. John’s in the opening round of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference playoffs. He completed 14 of 26 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown and led two 80+ yard scoring drives.
Paul Chryst and Jon Budmayr have had some pretty good luck recently with identifying quarterbacks early and getting in on the ground floor with an offer. With Edge playing at DeMatha there won’t be any shortage of suitors, but hopefully offering before most everyone else will allow the Badgers to have an...edge on the competition. ::bows::
